ABS Problem - warning light ON

Hi advice on an issue with ABS on W3 please all you helpful Clio peeps. The ABS warning light remains on after ignition. I’ve had the ABS rings checked for missing teeth and the wiring and sensors physically checked with no obvious visible problems. Is there a way that the sensors can be tested with out blindly swapping them with new sensors? Or any other known issues that it could be?

Check brake fluid level. Check the handbrake sensor on the back of the handbrake.

    Check the ABS works.

If it is an individual wheel sensor you can test it with a multimeter I think for an open circuit. It's a pain as the car is on an old OBD system. Personally, the W3 with it's ABS is a royal PITA when it goes wrong and not just because the sensor is harder to diagnose...the sensors themselves are a BITCH to replace. They literally melt into the stub axle.

There are older plug-in kits to diagnose issues that may help, but first, make sure it's actually working or not.

It could be the ABS unit itself is faulty. Not sure how to test that though.
