    I'm near breaking point with this car :( won't go into 1st and reverse when hot

    Well over the last few months I have done quite a bit of work on the car including the ratchet part on the pedal not the spring though as I didn't get one in the kit I had. New genuine cable, rebuilt gearbox with new clutch kit. New pivot bush and arm to all is ok bit when hot 1st and reverse gear are a ****ing nightmare. Im thinking of getting the full clutch pedal kit including the spring and trying that. I'm sure that the cable is put on correctly to
    Someone please shed some light

    Well I measured how much the folk was moving and it was only 11mm so I took the bump stop off and it's moved around 22mm so it must be this pedal?

    You want the full pedal, which also comes with the rest of the ratchet mechanism from Renault

    As you've done the ratchet once already the contortionist act you need to do wont come as any surprise to you

    Mate this is the 3rd time now the 1st one I done must have been some cheap copy as it snapped on me can do ratchet and cable in no time now lol. I have a pedal set coming hopefully that will be it.

    Is it true Renault have changed the design of the pedal ratchet for the better?

    you can buy just the spring.. around 6 quid as I purchased one a few months back.. mine has stretched, yet to change it though as the cars at the body shop atm.

    Might aswell do it all mate spent enough on the car the last few months thus ain't gonna make much difference lol

    Car is sorted now everything is so smooth and the biting point is midway now and not low as it has always been
