Cheers Ian, funnily enough the car does not look like the image you mention any more. After eating tonight I went out to the garage and put an hour and a bit in. Jacking the car up, front wheels off and brakes. Will take the front hubs off tomorrow night so that I can get the refurbished drive shafts back in.
I'll then put all of the front end back together and get on with the engine bay wiring loom later in the week.
I need to get this finished soon, summer is here.....
Feel the need to get this finished asap now, so trying to put in some time into the car in the evening.
Tonight I fitted the refurbished drive shafts
And for the first time in ages, the car has some fresh fluids 👍
Not bad thanks. Saying that the car is going back into the bodyshop (this Monday) to have some rectifications to the paintwork before I put all the exterior trim back on. Once it comes back I need to ;
Fit front and rear bumpers
door mirrors
hatch spoiler
front wings
Install the radiator & refill with waterless coolant
Fill up with PS fluid
Fit the bulkhead heat shield
Fit the OE exhaust (On loan from Crossers whilst I have a stainless steel copy made)
Reconnect the fuel lines
Then......
I need to remove the spark plugs, remove fuel pump fuse and turn the car over on the starter to prime the oil pump.
Following that see if it will start. If all is well;
Fit williams tear 1/4 stickers
Rear hatch sticker
Door jamb stickers
few bits and pieces of trim
Then if all is well, drive it.......Sorry you asked 😉.
All in all very close now to completion, I just hope that I love it when I get to drive it again
thanks for your interest, I'll keep you posted, Phil
Brilliant mate, its coming on now getting closer to driving it.
You will love it for sure, I have never owned another car that puts a smile on my face more than driving the Williams.
I took a days insurance on mine a few weeks ago to give it a run out, I was suppose to drop it back at the garage around 8:30pm to lock it up ... 11:30pm by time i got it there ...just couldn't give it up !!! hahaha
Im into a days insurance - what kind of money was that?
Thats great feedback, thanks for that.
I'm really looking forward to getting it finished and driving it.
Slight distraction today, putting a new rear lambda sensor on the Cup, ended up taking the from Cat and downpipe off so we could apply heat and violence on the old sensor and it was stuck solid.
