    Squealing rear brakes

I renewed all the discs and pads recently on my Willy 2 - DS2500s at the front and Mintex M1144 at the rear. However the car's squealing madly from the rear when I brake while reversing. There were anti-squeal shims on the rears when they were changed, but these didn't fit with the new Mintex pads so we left them off. am i better off just sticking some OE pads which will fit with the shims?

PS will be selling this car soon 71k miles, pretty excellent condition... photos etc when it's all super-duper clean

mine used to do this when wet.. with standard discs and pads on the rear... are the mintex similar in construction to the ds2500's? as these make a noise when cold..

I never had a problem with whatever was on before. Really can't remember how the two pads compare... However the DS2500s are fine, apart from the occasional tiny murmur on a slow stop.

well as you're possibly aware the rear's dont do alot.. it could be the case of the little friction/pressure applied on them when reversing and braking casing them to do this..
is it much of an issue for you to try standard pads?

Just a matter of buying some and getting them fitted
