Exhaust manifold - Nice surprise

Last night I removed the exhaust manifold from my engine as part of the strip down.
I was dreading this job, since so far not even the most simple job on my car has proved to be so.
Bearing in mind that the exhaust manifold and bolts always have a nice layer of rust on them, and have probably not been removed in 22 years the signs were not good.

I had been soaking the bolts in release fluid every now and again for a while now, just to aid removal - To my surprise, all the bolts came off no problem at all. Must have been my lucky day - I am due a few by now 😉
