Fuel injection rail removal

I'm just trying to remove this from my car and before I force anything that I shouldnt, I though that I would check with the knowledgable people on this forum.

i have disconnected all the fuel lines, breather hoses etc, then removed the two nuts holding the fuel injection rail in place and as far as I can see there is othing else to remove. The fuel rail is now slightly loose on the mounting studs but it wont pull out using reasonable pressure.

Is there anything that I have missed out?
Anyone had a similar experience who can advise me on what to do next?

The younger me at this stage would have carried on trying to remove the rail and either got it off or broken something......The older me now stops at this stage and looks for advise 😉

Persuading with a pry bar is what's needed, ideally with a helper and another pry bar so you get even pressure to pop it off squarely.

It's just the rubber seals on the injectors that's holding it in place now, just try not to lose them as they don't always stay attached to the injectors once you pop the rail off

Only knowledgable from how many things I've fcuked up doing on these things

As paddy says, a pair if small pry bars will do the trick. I got some new seals and filters from Mr Injector as mine were rock solid.

It's fun putting the injectors and rail back on too ;)

Just don't do what I did and get petrol in your eye.

Still not got the rail out yet, I have yet to get another person to assist me here.
I tried it again last night, on my own two levers at each end. Plenty of movement at each end of the rail, maybe its the middle two injectors that are hanging tight.

Are the injectors that are keeping this rail "held fast" just an interferance fit into the head?

If so its a bloody good fit!

It does takes quite a lot of force to get it off if its never been off Phil, more than you ever think it would!! If the end ones are loose, use a pry bar in the middle and just go for it (close your eyes and let out a big roar if you have to!).
