The engine in the 480 turbo is a Renault engine, same F series block as from the Clio RSi, same flywheel as the valver & williams etc, quite common to find that engine in a mk1 Clio as it's a very simple fit & conversion.
Also common to see F7 engines transplanted into the older rwd volvos as they use the same bolt patterns for the gearboxes

Interesting... So is that where people source turbo conversions etc?

At least I'm glad I have a Clio and not something with the same aerodynamic properties of a slice of brie

Not quite, people either go with the volvo engine, R5 GTT engine or convert the F7 with F7 specific turbo bits for turbo conversions
