Hi guys, I'm thinking on having a punt on 0055 for sale in the auction at silverstone. If anyone on here has any info on the car I certainly would appreciate hearing it, as for me to go and bid its a 600 mile trip, and that's one way !

I was going to head down for a look but not sure I will now as looking at the photos it looks like the arches are bubbling quite badly and I have a feeling it could go for daft money.

Isn't the viewing the same day as the auction too which isn't ideal.

Let me know if you do cos I'm going down to Edinburgh next week anyway so I might go down a look ! Knowing me though, it will need to be bad, or really dear for me not to buy it for transport back up the road. If that did happen she would be heading back up to Orkney.

I would imagine if you are really that interested, then directing your queries to the advertiser/vendor would be far more prudent than relying on internet chat.

As to the above about speaking to the vendor, I phoned the auction house before I came on here to see what they said about it and to see if I could get in touch with the owner. I spoke to the guy dealing with it and he hadn't seen it ! I asked him if I could speak to whoever had given the car 96 points out of 135 and he said that that was the owner, when I asked for the owners contact details he said that the owner didn't want to speak to potential buyers !! Hence the reason for coming on here to see if anyone knew the car. So really not a lot of info to go on at this point. Cheers Stan.
