Just seen some nasty photos that makes me wonder about continuing
Rear quarter fully fitted now, now the task of moving round the rest of the car, inner outer sills bumper support bracket inner front wings offside outer arch etc will upload pics soon
Just a general question !!!
When my mate restores/rebuilds his Mk.I & MkII Escort projects,BEFORE he welds any new/replacement panels..he sends the bare shell away for acid dipping, generally the shells come back, looking like a piece of lace .....but completely rust free.....and it identifies the scope of repair needed and it is easier to weld...Just a thought as these Iconic cars are now 20 plus years old
Sorry to heat that you are feeling like this, unfortunately it's always the way that things get worse when you start dismantling older cars. I hope that you keep going, by the look of what tne guys ar Resto Shack are doing, when they have finished you will have avery solid shell.
I'm sure that I'm going to have some "twitchy bum" moments when the parts start coming off my car.
looking forward to more progress image when you get them.
keep going pal it will be worth it at the end .
So thats the rear quarter on, 3 skins by sill and jacking point rebuilt primed zinc etc quarter spot welded and seem welded as per OEM onwards and arond wards, if more photos needed just holler
