    5 seconds

I was racing at Snetterton yesterday. When I say racing.... it only lasted 5 seconds. Sam Brabbham, son of David and grandson of Jack Brabham managed to stall the car at the race start causing a multicar pile-up. I've now got a nice £10K repair bill. Damage includes fooked front bodywork, fooked rear bodywork, fooked rear diffuser, fooked rear diffuser, fooked right front wheel, fooked right front slick, fooked left rear wishbone, fooked front splitter strut. all for 5 seconds of "fun"

Sorry to hear that Will. Blimey, 10k for what looks a fairly minor shunt.

Buer .... sorry to see that.

Is insurance an option?? probably the excess would be £10K.

I've considered insurance in the past, but it works out around £1500 for a race weekend (2X20mins races) and the excess is still at about £5000. So unless you bend the chassis, insurance is on average not worth it. Going to the Radical factory tomorrow to pick up the repaired bodywork and new bits that need to be replaced. Then Thursday next week is testing and track day event at Silverstone. Followed by a race meeting on the 23rd at Silverstone. Hopefully no start line dramas again then!
