    MK1 Bump Strips

    Hey chaps,

Just wondered how these come off.. slide or pop.. I see the ones one the doors have screws.. do the door ones slide backwards and the rear ones forward ?

what's the process with as little damage made possible please?

I realise I may have to get new clips in case.. anyone remember the part number or have a linky for these?

Open the front door and slide the door ones off towards the back but remove the screw first, rears is the same but pull them forward and theirs no screw. I couldnt get any clips from renault but you can get them on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-Tr...item5d3b35729d

This is for a willy 2 though so not sure how different a 1 is

The above stuff.. but with the below to clean and make it bite onto the plastic nicely

Then how its turned out below (photobucket link), i've done the bumper strips front and back, the side bump strips (yet to fit) and the scuttle with this stuff.. the hockey sticks will be next...
its kind of inbetween matt n satin finish..

I aslo did the black grill on the bonnet, which has a satin finish, as do the windscreen wipers.. just normal black satin from Halfords (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...5505)..£40-£50 in total with a couple of coats etc..

right, had a go at taking these off today.. well did a few other bits too but.. the broken one i thought id start with first.. was stuck on.. the clips doing sweet fa.. unfortunately in the process has pulled some lacquer off.. not a great deal but will be touched up professionally before having a full going over in the coming months.. anywho.. i cant seem to upload pics but im in need of both the rectangle bits that sit in the mouldings and the bits that are already in the rear quarter panel.. little white stumpy bits.. lol anyhelp in the right direction would be a massive help.. are these available through renault still? motor factors do 'em? Heeeeeeelp!!

    Thanks
