You're missing the point a bit though, they're a gimmick that people seem to have been conned into over the years and worse is that people also seem to think it's a fix for overheating issues as well.
They're not the correct part for the car, you've not had any hassle that you've noticed but it's still wrong & your fuelling wont be right because of it

Ah I see. I wasn't aware of that tbh. I only changed mine to the low temp stat because I overhauled everything. Rad, expansion tank fan switch etc
