    Rear wipers confusing me!

Ok I've just bought a new rear wiper arm as the old one bust, but the new one is smooth inside and the motor where it mounts has teeth! Do I just tighten it on or is something missing?

That was what I thought, just seemed strange that was all. Bloody french cars! Yes the part of the motor that sticks out where you mount the wiper arm has teeth/splines. On BMW's the hole in the wiper arm also has teeth and when you put it in they marry up according to where you want the wiper to start/finish. These must just have soft metal inside so when you tighten the nut it holds firm.
