Strange question but are you running a 172 gearbox?
Strange question but are you running a 172 gearbox?
Not a strange question at all, it's a 1.9 diesel box.maybe that's the problem?
Which year and car is the box from? Reason I ask when people fit the 172 boxes and use the wrong mount for them, the dogbone will be 1 inch out.
I'm not sure as I bought the box 5 years ago but I would say its 1994 or 1995.the bottom bell housing is designed for a support bracket that bolts to the sump on the Diesel engine.
could well be that then tbh
the reason the flange is wrong is its probably for the older stud pattern, I had my new turbo modified to fit the older pattern on the downpipe
I was looking through old threads from 08 were some fellas had a problem with the downpipe fitment.
Do you find that one of the 5 holes is a bit out? If so, you'll need to drill the down pipe or get the turbo sent away like I had to.
Yes one is half a hole out.i drilled the holes bigger but made no difference it's still a mile away.its nothing to do with the gear box because as it is with the dogbone not connected the inlet manifold is sitting way to high above the slam panel at the front of the car.
tbh it sounds like chop and reweld then, still got no idea why this would be the case. but we're just going round in circles trying to diagnose at a distance
I agree there coops,it's not like I've made this conversion up myself.all parts are mk1 Clio so it's difenitly that the pipe is made wrong and that's it.
