Ceramic coating on manifolds

Hi Everyone,
Im thinking of getting Camcoats to ceramic coat my manifolds for my williams (was going to use Zyrotec but very expensive). Has anyone ever done this and had any experience with Camcoat or had theres ceramic coated its meant to bring down engine bay temp down by 30%
ive been quoted £110 plus VAT which i thought was quite reasonable

That's about what I paid for mine many years ago. I measured, with a thermocouple at the bonnet vent, only a few degrees temperature drop before and after the job. Nothing to get excited about performance-wise, but the coating also keeps my manifold in good nick (coming 17 years now), so I would say 110 gbp should be well worth it.

Insulation wraps are the way to go if you really want to keep all the heat inside the pipes. But I heard stories about premature exhaust failures, so I never tried wraps.

Manifold wrapping is fine but eventually it will start to fall off etc, and it's grubby stuff.

That is impressive. I remember a ceramic coated manifold being a very expensive option on the Radical. I was always amazed that you could actually touch it when fully up to temperature.

well maifold wrap will cost you at least 30quid inc all the ties and what not... so only 80quid more, might give it a try myself... wouldnt use wrap again as my supersprint keeps cracking when wrapped.

BTW, does 110 gbp include cleaning the manifold prior to the coating? I had mine sandblasted first.
If sandblasting is included in the price, I can see a queue forming up behind you already

Cleaning the surfaces is important. Don't skimp on that, if you have to pay extra that is.

yeh that includes cleaning etc and could pay another 30/40 then you can have the internal part of the manifold done as well, maybe if anyone wante dit doen we could put them in together and get a discount any one interested?cheers james
