That's not that bad from Renault tbh

You could get one rebuilt by a gearbox place for less though.

My rebuilt OEM box has lasted years of abuse, fitted by previous owner.

my quote from Renault was over 1k!! but as u say get a little back when the old box gets returned, think i paid around £750 to have mine rebuilt.. but then that also included taking it out n putting it back in.. aswell as doin the belts n pumps n all on the engine as they took the whole lot out! n a few other bits to be fair.. depends on ur cash flow and time... if u have urs rebuilt.. they/whoever does it, might not be able to get genuine renault internals quicker than u could get the whole thing.. would you be happy to pay the extra to know that renault rebuilt the one they would sell you.. i know if money wasnt an issue id go to renault.. but both time and money played apart in mine.. not that it was done by using poverty spec parts, its just that it included the labour n the other bits too.. and was done within the week..

For a rebuild send it to Agency Transmissions, that's where pretty much all Renault/Peugeot specialists I know of around the UK send boxes to for rebuilds

It would depend on if the box was actually new or if it was old stock as they only started doing the bolt in diff on all the boxes after a certain year but I can't think of when that was

I bought a new box from Renault around three years ago for 0425 and it had the circlip reinforcement done... think its standard on re-furbed boxes now... £750 is a good price- I paid that at the time...
