Brilliant cars. I wish I never sold mine but space was an issue at the time. I think they still look great and like the williams are a classic. Only problem with them like williams/valvers etc is they rot. Badly. Getting a good on can be a hassle. In standard form they go well, mine pulled away from my brothers 172 no problem. Its back to old school with the manual choke no P/S ABS etc but super wee cars to drive.

I had one as my first car. Great little things, especially in their day. I wish I'd never sold it as it was mint and only had 30k on it when I sold it to work abroad for a few years. Body wise they are pretty fragile so you probably need to find a well-cared for example these days to make sure that you are not fighting a losing battle against a rust bucket.

My first one was a Raider, which I bought with about 30k miles on in 1995 or so. I actually sold a valver to buy it even though the valver was a much newer car back then, the R5 blew it away for thrills. That old school turbo boost mixed with light steering was just epic. Wish I never sold it! The second one was a black model but was a bit of a bad egg. had I been more savvy with mechanics back then I could have sorted it though. It started to rot on the suspension turrets.

    Rare to see one nowadays!

I had one 4 year's ago. I just had to get it out of my system!! Owned a nice example but the affair lasted 3 months if that. My impression was 'ticking time bomb' the years had court up with the handling and I didn't want to spend on it. I enjoyed the whole experience owning it! Go get one!!!
