    Bucket seat fitment

Up till now, I've not considered bucket seats as the Willy was a daily driver in some of the worse shitty traffic jams ever, and the OEM seats are terrific tbh.

Now I have uber leather heated ones in the BMW, and a bicycle to use as well for fitness and nice days, I can afford to go a bit mad with strippage on the TAC mobile.

So, I think I am going to get some 6.9kg Oreca seats from France...K-Tec don't seem to offer them yet.

I will obviously get harnesses, but do I then only need the side mounts, or do I need some kind of subframe too. I want a neat install, no welding/hacking or jury-rigging anything.

Depends if you want them to be fixed or able to slide back & forth.

I've got these http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=COSFRE03L&a=i not got a pic of them fitted but they are very neat & so easy to fit. With side mounts (unless those seats are base mountable as well) you might need a tiny bit of jury rigging but only in the form of drilling holes to line up with the bolt holes on the sliding bits of the subframe.

They come in 4 parts, 1 is a big square that bolts to the floor and the other 3 bits make up the sliding bit (2 sliders & 1 bit that you grab hold of so they can slide in unison) which 1st has to be attached to the seat then to the main subframe part

Can you not just use oem runners and modify them as necessary?

Better weight saving from just side mounts I imagine? Can I get them specially made just for my short arse?
