    Clutch fork pivot bush

Hi all, does anyone know where I can get one from? Changed clutch and cable around a year ago and it still feels far heavier than others I've tried..!

    Cheers in advance,

    Charlie.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-5-...item41596ef3cf is a bit impossible to change without removing the clutch housing, mind you.
    Renault part number : 77 00 715 851

Now when you say you changed the clutch do you mean the pedal or the clutch itself?

Cheers Jaymzfc. Paddy, the clutch itself was changed - am I on the right route here? Should I be perhaps looking for a pedal instead..?

Possibly as the pivot bush should be changed when the clutch is done as the only way to do it is with the gearbox off the car. Is the cable routed correctly? The pedal on these cars are very heavy in comparison to other cars anyway unless you've had a go in 1 with the soft pedal conversion?

Get a helper to press the clutch while you measure how far the clutch fork moves, should move between 17 & 21mm. 17 or 18mm will indicate that the pedal ratchet on it's last legs & could do with replacing

Cheers all. Yes, cable is routed per Renault. I'll have to give it a go when I get a chance. My mechanic believes it has had the soft pedal conversion, hence my confusion - it's clearly not worked..! Are there any other issues which could be causing this?

show us a pic of your clutch fork, if it does have the soft pedal conversion I'm fresh out of ideas

    Hi chaps,

Months down the line, I've had this sorted. In the end it turned out to be a faulty genuine clutch cable, where the inner sleeve had come loose and worked it's way 'round to somewhere it shouldn't have been (does this mean much to you guys?). It doesn't explain the heaviness prior to the clutch change itself (must've been the old clutch!) but hey, popping another genuine cable on has worked a treat.

    Thanks for all your inputs.

    Charlie
