Dont really know where to put this so move it around at will...
Anyway, today my meg went into the garage and they gave me a courtesy car, took it home fine, later went back out and about 4-5 miles into my journey it stutters and flashes up 'Electrical fault' on the dash then the engine dies. i hit the hazards and try to restart it...it wont restart. I ring the garage and tell them my predicament, they think its something to do with key cards and come to find me with the spare card. this doesnt work and the engine makes a knocking noise when it turns over, we push it to a layby and he takes me back to the garage and gives me a new courtesy car...off i go.
Later on i get a call to come get my car and they also tell me that there was a load of water in the airbox of the courtesy car and this has been sucked into the engine (i.e. hydrolock). This is where my problem lies.... they say i'm liable for the new engine/repair work. yes it has been raining alot today but i didnt go through anything huge. the mechanic saw the road when he picked me up so knows it wasnt flooded.
So my questions are:
- Am i liable?
- On garages insurance?
- Will my full comp directline insurance cover it?
the courtesy car was a 1.9 megane mk2 DCI just for more info...
Help!
Cheers.
