    noisy cam lifter

    Hello everybody.
last week I realised that one of the hydraulic cam lifters is noisy and it's not going completely away.
    Any suggested actions for that?
The 16 of them, only the lifters, are £500 new from Renault.
    That is not an option.
    Can anybody help?

    Thanks

ebay, set for 60 squid and although they can be hit and miss most are usually better than a knackered one

Do you know if the cam wears when the lifter is knackered and so can I visually check if I take out the cover?

I've never seen one, I wouldn't be concerned about it unless the noise has been ongoing for a long time and is particularly loud/worrying

I was more referring to the question regarding worn cams, not worn tappets

So I guess I have to change the tappets only.
Does anybody have any idea how much this will cost to do it in a garage?
Cause if I do it my self I will need many days and I need the car.
    Thanks for the replies anyway.
