    4000rpm idle!!!!!

    hi, i have swoped the engine in my willy after having it all rebuilt, but when i turn it on now it idles at 4000rpm (mental) not gud…… any idea what it could be any1???? Thanks

    Yeah its got to be getting a lot of air from somewhere to see that sort of rpm.

    Check the throttle body is shutting properly, make sure there are no leaks anywhere, check that the ICV isnt jammed open.

    there isnt a air leak anywere but when i take the map sensor pipe of and cover it the rpm drops lots…… do you think the map sensor is nakerd?

    im waiting for one now so when i try it ill update.

    i have just tryd the new map sensor and no joy, just the same 4000rpm. but when i block the vacume pipe going to the map sensor its 2000rpm.

    now im thinking ECU but iv tryd my spare one and it doesnt make any differance!!!!

    anyone ideas???

    From what I know if the map sensor is disconnected the engine should stall!

    Tps set at 0,16V?
