Oh my god, that's a collectors piece. Any petrol head can understand what you have done there. It's a stunner. On the flip side I have paid £1500 for a 96,000 mile williams 3 that needs lots of care to get it back to its glory. Mechanically sound, but to see a 3 in complete factory finish like this is very rare.

all I would say is make sure you do a few miles in it, and enjoy it. I work with someone that's got a 1989 911 Coupe in white, he's had it 20 years and its done 50k. It's not been used for some 16 years and the bill to get it back on the road is a biggie. Cherish it but enjoy it. It's a beaut.

Right, you see that box section. The rear jacking box and the front box section on the sill. Get some wax or grease into it, as they rust from the inside on those places. Also the chassis rails. If you do this it wont rust. Also do the rear chassis rails particularly around the fuel tank, Lots of wax all into the cavity. Cover the entire inside of the box section. After 30 years the galvanised metal will be losing its zinc.

Also take it to a body shop and get them to redo the seam sealer on the bonding point from the inner to outer arch. This is where water will get in and after 20 years the sealer will be cracked.

very nice pictures Willant - great to see some more detailed shots. Dont worry about the coolant, ive seen a few cars leave Renault after a service with that colour in.

Youve got a great car there. Please hang onto it for aslong as you can.....
