Dont know if anyone else has had this problem.....but on mine the wiring loom that goes into the relay box in the engine bay had corroded connections which caused this problem. I changed the box and problem went. Ive also heard its something else that can cause it but cant remember what

When you say it revs low.....
Do you mean the counter revs low or the engine revs low?

The rev counter feed is the pink wire on the coil pack(above the car battery)

    Try cleaning that wire

I had similar problems with my rev counter, and had to replace it. It's a fiddly job but I'm sure there's a guide on here somewhere of how to do it.

    Hi all.

Sorry for the slow reply, been very busy!!

Interestingly the rev counter starts and stops working correctly!

It's a electrical fault for sure as when you use power, like indicate, it flickers...I'll check the pink wire when I get get out of storage again next weekend! Cheers!!
