    My first Engine out

I have taken a engine out of a car let alone a willy for the fisrt time today, Only took just under 3hrs well happy with that. :D :D :D .

Just need to take the 1 out of my car now and swap it over, might even have another pair of hands for that though.

While it is out does any1 suggest any things to do before it goes back in. The cam belt and tensioner look like its been done recently (although trying to find out from previous owner to make sure.) was going to do an oil change and putting some new injectors in that i have that have been cleaned.

Everything else looks ok, but just want to make sure i don't miss anything.

    Thanks

i would do cam belt ten any way

also water pump. rocker cover gasket. oil filter.. and full service.

    alternator belt.

and a check all all bolts around the rear starter motor..

would be worth checking the clutch release bearing pivot bush.

    throttle and clutch cable.

steering arms or steering rack boots.. much easier with empty bay.

check fuel hoses too. map hoses..

Just found out Cambelt and ten was done 3k ago.

Left the ecu and loom attached.

Does anyone know if you can get a service kit anywhere or know wheres best to get them.

Clutch an throttle cable are good, might think about a new clutch while its out.

Might as well do the clutch & make sure you get a new pivot bush

Just realised I'm gonna need a starter motor now I've turned gay & got an F7R, that's assuming you'll sell the spare 1 you've got :P

Leaving the loom attached to the engine makes it so much easier to put it all back in I find
