Can anyone confirm this Dogbone mount is fitted properly....

Afternoon all, been having some trouble with excessive vibration through the car since i had a new dogbone mount fitted by a garage the other day. Ive had a good look round it all today and to me it does not look right, it looks like its at more of an angle than it should be.

Ive had a look at the same mount on my mates mk1 clio and it is perfectly straight with nice gaps either side of were the mount is inside the gearbox arm bracket. On mine it appears to be at angle and touching the arm bracket as you can see in the pictures i hope.

What i want to know is do these go on one way only? does it look like the wrong part or could something else be wrong?

Any help much apreciated as it can go back if they have fitted it wrong.

I would suggest fitting a set of PolyFlex Bushes

    It's certainly not brand new.
And i agree with you, it looks to be on the piss, would take a bit of work but they can be fitted the wrong way round.

Do you have a picture of the engine from the top?
Could they have possibly replaced the mount under the battery tray but positioned it too far back?

fitting it is easy yes, theres a few options..

    1. Buy a new O.E one from Renault
    2. Fill the old B/End with sealant to stiffen it
    3. Push the old bushes out and have Polyflex refitted
    4. Buy a coops mount (member called coops makes full metal mounts)

Defintely worth fitting a new dogbone - as the others have said, that one looks shot. It's an easy job - don't need to remove anything else so as long as you have access to the underneath of the car you just take the bolt out at either end and slot the replacement in. If the bolt has been put in on one side rather than the other it can be a bit more tricky to remove as the downpipe can foul the removal of the bolt a bit, but if the nut is on the downpipe side then it should be a doddle.
