If it didn't have oil press anymore the oil press warning light would have been illuminated..

Sensor or connection issue. Don't panic, if the oil pressure is too low, the oil can icon begins to light on the dashboard.

I wouldn't worry about it, imagine how I felt when I saw mine jumping up & down like a maniac while I was stationary

Just replace it & all will be well again and if you're feeling particularly flush with cash or a bit mental (or both) the part number is 77 00 843 236 & approx £62 from Renault

Yes, but have a good look & make sure the wire to it is connected properly 1st

Ok it's an F7R megane lump but it's identical to the valver/willy, look at the bottom right of the picture, underneath that curly heatshield, that silver & black thing with the red wire poking out the top is the sensor, iirc you need a 19mm spanner to remove it

Tried fiddling with it, removed the cable cleaned and plugged in again , no joy, so most prob the switch is dead. Anyone got a spare second hand one, they want 85 euro for one here and 3 weeks to order.

    tks again guys
