    Exhaust Blowing Like Mad...

Where the decat connects to the downpipe there's no gasket on there, wans't one on when I took it off. Wasn't blowing at all. Blowing like a good'n now.

Am I really wasting my time just trying to put paste on there to stop it blowing? Is a gasket a must?

It's possible that the 2 mating faces aren't perfectly flat & giving a good enough seal, try a shitload of silicone sealer to act as a gasket & that should do the trick

Ive got gaskets on both on my decat joints, and exhaust paste on both faces - the paste needs to be applied and 'cured' correctly to get the best possible seal.

The gaskets are pathetic, don't bother.

Either high temp. silicone sealant or Holts Firegum from Halfrauds are your best bet.
