It is an idler pulley that maintains cambelt tension. But its not an adjustable tensioner. But this is stupidly obvious?
This argument is about as feeble as saying an auxilary belt isnt the same as a serpentine belt or a fan belt e.t.c

An idler in the dictionary is something that does nothing.
The fact of the matter is this pulley acts as a deflector and tensioner, it is hardly idle. Point being in the fooking queens english and in my view a tensioner.
And further to that fact it's main purpose is to tension at that point because of the drop from the inlet sprocket to the crank is so long.
It is irrelevant at this point whether you call it an idler or a tensioner.
As per behaviour on an online forum well that point I made above.
