It might be to do with the clutch arm pivot bush used in the gearbox ??
I know there are 2 different types .

Had fun & games with the clutch not disengaging after I fitted a new one. Only conclusion left after fitting new cable & ratchet mechanism was the clutch itself at fault. Ripped it off & took it back to gsf compared it with another clutch & the 1 I had was much thicker, turns out the clutch I has was simply put in the wrong box

A longer clutch arm means that the cable has to go a longer way to fully declutch, so i think that the clutch pedal needs a bit of tuning if you change to a longer clutch arm..
