    developed a missfire

    as above was running car on idle all was fine then it started running on 3 cylinders. checked plugs and one next to cam belt cover was not firing, changed plug changed dis cap changed lead still running on 3 any ideas anyone?

    Hi

    Did you actually check for a spark? are you sure its not an fuel injector problem.

    hi fella got spark and the plug not firing is saturated in petrol running out of ideas

    Strange one that.

    is it possible that the injector is stuck open?

    Don't want to tell you how to suck eggs but the HT leads are in the correct order, the new dizzy cap is correct and If you remove the plug and re-connect it to the HT you have a definate spark to earth?

    yes mate all leads are correct, all earths ok tested injectors they all ok. mate from renault recons it could possibly be a bent valve not returning

    i hope i am very wrong here, i had the same problem on my turbo car and it turned out the head gasket had blown inbetween the last 2 cylinders on the cambelt side, its happened to many people, as wobba says you need to do a compression test, i changed absolutely everything and the test results confirmed the problem, hope this is not your problem

    right removed head 3 cylinders where carboned up and no 1 was still shiny? looks like it has never been firing properly any ideas?

    could be headgasket as steam cleans the cylinder so they look like new
