    Was bored yesterday lol

Had a bit of spare time yesterday so decided to have a go at polishing my cam cover,,

Started with a good shot blasting, then painted it fresh silver/grey

then got the da out and hit the top section with 320 grit, then 400 to 600 to 800 to 1000 to 1200 to 1500 then 2000 grit, time consuming stuff lol

Then out with the polishing wheel and wax, first, the first stage wax and a good going over followed with the finishing wax stick and a final run over.

Think it turned out ok, then a mate had the idea of etching williams on the top of it,

    The finished product

I dont think it turned out too bad for a first time attempt

I'd be more impressed if you did it without a DA & done it manually :P

    Looks good tho

Thanks for the comments everyone, its the cover of my williams 3 which is hopefully going onto the williams 1 next week when the restoration should be complete...

I also shot blashed and painted the intake manifold and cam pulley cover to match

too much work without a da, call me lazy lol
i would not be confident enough doing it to other peoples parts to offer it as a service.. sorry and besides im usually up to my neck in things and would find it difficult to find the time..

was time consuming but strangle easy to do, the etching was just a sticker made up out of ventureshield stone guard vinyl then the exposed area got treated to the shotblaster very gently and from a distance this time, when the sticker/template was removed i was really happy with the sharp lines it left, it was trial and error but got it first time, i was worried the shotblaster would rip ordinary vinyl to pieces which is why i decided on the ventureshield stuff...
