    Gearbox

    My speedo outer cable has broken of flush in the gearbox.Any advice on how to remove it?

    Mine was seized in solid even after tapping around it to try lossen it up.

    Am about to get around to doing it so am going to drill it out. You just need to be careful not to drill too deep to damage the speedo crown underneath it otherwise it's box open time.
    You could try a reversible drill bit and it may just unseize it and pop out then.

    Thanks.....may have a go with a dremel and try to cut a slot in it. It looks like a right pig to remove.

    Might try put a screw in there about an inch into it and then try prise it out with a claw hammer? hhmm hammers.LOL

    well well I do surprise myself from time to time :D

    got the bugger out. screw on the right took some of the cable out. screw on the left took the remainder.
    now all I gotta do is find a cheap pilot bearing puller and i'm rebuilding the box.
