    My Williams has not been started for 18 months

    What should I go before starting my Clio I have put new petrol in charged the battery should I give it a oil and filter change also change the spark plugs to
    I won't be driving it just starting it as it is sorn at the mo any more info would be helpfull thanks

    I dont start mine for months at a time and I always jack the front wheels off the floor and then put it in 3rd gear, I then spin the relevant wheel to turn the engine by hand to ensure nothing is seriously wrong, a few turns like this and then i fire it up.
    In your case it might be worth taking the lead off the coil and turning it over a bit more with the starter to get some oil moving as its been idle for so long, and then fire it up and leave it idle to get the oil flowing, worth doing a visual on your cambelt too and thinking about when it was done last.
    works for me

    I personally would remove the spark plugs and crank the engine over, this will remove any load on the bearings at all and will be the most gentle way to circulate some oil around the engine.

    Thanks for the replys just waiting for some new spark plugs to come through the post then I will be cracking on the discs look quite rusty will they need replacing or will they be ok after a few miles driving May replace the flid and give them a bleed just to be on the safe side

    mine discs rust up quiet a bit if the car is not driven for a few weeks. but are normally back to there shiny surface after a short run. not sure what will happen after standing for 18 months though??????

    Be fine. Just start it, replace anything that breaks
