    Oil Pressure Gauge - Non-standard

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket oil presure gauge in place of the orginal?

Maybe looking at doing this so.

Would appreciate any views/experience of what you did and gauges used.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

I have't fitted any oil pressure gauges, bit I have used several other types from Auto Gauge over the years and they've all done the same thing. After a few months the needle becomes 'sticky' and then the gauge becomes progressively less accurate. I'd recommend avoiding Auto Gauge gauges.

I'm using a Pro Sport boost gauge at the moment. The accuracy of this one seems to have remained unchanged in six months of use.

I'm running a Race Technology Dash 2. The oil pressure reading is displayed in digital form so is always accurate. It has a low pressure alarm so you don't need to keep your eye on it all the time.

They are mechanical ones. They come with 2 metre capillary tubes with 3/8BSP male connectors. £34.99 posted

Oil pressure ones look exactly the same apart from the obvious.

They have standard 1/8 BSP coned male connections. Tubing doesnt come with this one, and you have the options of braided stainless steel or nylon.

Gauge is £24.99 posted. No idea on cost of fittings im afriad as yet.

Does this replace the original gauge or is it an extra? Where does it get it's feed from ?
