My Willy Wheels - chance to save them!

took the wheels off 0199 other weekend as they had the baldest, get me points on my licence, tyres in the world on them.

weirdly i felt no difference in the wet from when they weren't bald, PE2's are simply epic tyres!

so got my pa to strip the tyres off yesterday morning and gave the wheels a clean inside and out to see what they were like. knew they were in decent nick and had had a refurb at some point but wasnt sure how good or recent

colur match? any good people think, on the inside of the wheel, as in under the tyres, written on each is

    SUBARU GOLD
    POLISHED LIP

    maybe see it here?

but the colour looks pretty good to me!

anyway cleaned them up from this

    to this

and as you can see, main issue is the kerbing around the polished lip, its cracked the clear coat and corrosion had taken hold.

idea is to touch up bad areas of the paintwork, recut the lip and relaquer them where required, then respray the centre caps

heres a question mainly aimed at ex-scooby boy Dan (wobba) any ideas on variations in 'SUBARU GOLD' for wheels mate? so i can match some for the centre caps??

then fit new tyres and rock on, mint wheels for 0199!!

    cheers

I think Subura used to use the same Speedline Gold on their cars?

The gold inside the tyre looks a different colour to the face of the alloy, may have been done again after they were done in subaru?

I don't know colour codes, but the Williams Speedlines and Impreza Speedlines are very similar in colour.

Most of my close up shots of my old Scoob wheels are on printed pics and my scanner isn't connected at the mo, but these give you a slight idea off my old McRae and the BAT car:

One of the only road legal WRX's, before the imports, at British American Tobacco.

Me in a marshalls tower at Silverstone GP circuit. My Ltd Ed McRae. Clean wheels for a change. Not much variation in the colours on the wheels (or the paint ;) ).

These guys showed me the difference in Scooby gold and Williams gold, there is a difference but it's not huge. I don't think the gold they have there with the Willy wheel is correct though.
