PAS rack question

Could the long hose/metal pipe work be replaced with 1 long braided hose and connectors or does it need to be this set up with the metal piping etc?

As long as it can take the high pressure, the metal bit is only there for where it bolts to the gearbox.
The other type of pipe doesn't have a metal section but that is shorter.

Been looking at the ptfe lined stuff thats used for high pressure applications,now the nightmare that is finding out the threads in the rack aluminium body bit and the pulley housing :(
