    oil light and water light

    hi there i hope you can help

    my oil light and water light come on at the same time yesturady after i had picked it up and turned the car off and back on agen and it had gone out so wondered if you could enlighten me as to what it is?

    and my oil pressure gauge works on and off so im going to check the wiring and is it a hard job?

    would that make the oil pressure gauge be temperamental?

    this morning i got to work and the oil light and engine temperature light came on but then went out

    the engine temperature was fine

    what is causing them to come on at the same time as i would have thought that they would run on seperate wiring


    somebody please help im confused lol

    Could be a short on the plastic printed circuit board in the dials, i've seen corroded ones before

    ah ok and to do that is a compelete dash out job i take it?

    Easier than dash out, top dash off and shroud round steering wheel off and panal under steering wheel, only takes 15 mins, if that

    ah ok cheers mate

    i could kinda kill 2 birds with one stone doing that as the oil pressure gauge is tempermental to

    if its not corroded what else could it be?

    I'd then check all the wiring through the engine bay etc back to the sensors. If no damage to the wires check the connections to the sensors.

    But with them both coming on at the same time i'd go for corroded clocks or rubbing wires
