home made cage for my hybrid project

Being still a student (very low budget!) and living in Malta (very expensive performance parts .. €620 for an OMP cage ) I decided to custom fabricate a rollcage for my hybrid project.

I thought I'd share some photos my dad took while I was working..

This is how the cold drawn steel tubings looked after picking them up from a local metal worker. He's done all the bending I needed with some steel rod templates I made for him.

and thats myself notching the ends of the rear supporting bars..

    spot welding in place..

Very happy with the result .. hope you like too :D

f*ck my eyes' burning now .. damn welding!!
