How to fit bucket seats & harnesses

Right boys & girls how should I fit my bucket seats? I'm not quite sure how to do this so I'm asking for help

The seats I've got don't have subframes, so obviously I need to get some, but not sure what to get.

I could buy these http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=...ored-Subframes or these http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=...ored-Subframes They're both direct fit either the full tilting jobbers or just sliding but they're a bit bloody expensive

So I've found these http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?p=COSFUR100&a=i that bolt onto the seats existing subframes and are much much cheaper, problem with these is that I've got no idea how the subframes on the original seats come off or go together

So people, which ones should I buy & how do I do it, also any information on how to correctly fit the harnesses will be much apreceiated :D

what seats have you got mate??

    side mounted??

    bottom mounted???

if they are side mounted then you wont need any of the above. bottom mounted and youl need tailored frames as the runners may be diff in terms of where the mounting holes are for the seat(if oe frame used) or the holes may be diff for mounting to floor, if universal frames are used

Got some Corbeau Forza Sport seats, those subframes I've found are tailored to the seats and the car, except the universal 1 which is just tailored to the bucket seat

My understanding of those are, that the 1st 2 subframes will bolt onto my seats then straight into the car
And the 3rd frame I found needs to bolt to the bucket seat and then onto the standard seats subframe

but then if u used the last 1, ud have 2 sets of runners under the seat, the universal 1 and the clio 1.

personally id use the tailored ones, with the clio runners.

Is this for road/track days or for competition use, as you need to make sure you follow the letter of the regs if the latter? For harnesses you want to get a 4-point or 6-point ideally. You can buy harness mounting bolts that have a metal O ring on the end and just screw into the existing seat belt mounting points, allowing you to keep the standard 3-point inertia belt for road use too if you wanted (apart from the buckle part is mounted to the standard seat iirc, so if you have fitted buckets you might lose this and need to find another way to mount the buckle part). The ends of the harness straps then clip into these O rings. The exit of the shoulder straps through the seat cutouts should be as close to the horizontal plane as possible, so the ideal would be to have a cage with a harness bar added at shoulder height that you could attach the end of the harness around. However, MSA regs allow the shoulder belts to be mounted other than on the floor directly behind the driver (blue book regulation K2.1.9) so an alternative is to mount the O ring bolts in the standard holes used for the rear seat belts and lap strap.

They're going to be for road use & as many track days as I can afford, I can't drive well enough to compete

I'm going to buy some 4 point harnesses & probably get rid of the inertia belt altogether now I know how they can be fixed into the back of the car.

I'm still not sure what to buy to mount the seats into the car though

Sorry, I can't really advise on the bucket mounting as from the seats I've got no two seem to be exactly the same method, and I don't want to tell you the wrong thing!

Re: the harness bolt you can see the one in the rear mounted where the bottom of the rear backrest would be in this photo:
