Problems putting coilover suspension back together.

I hope someoen can help because I'm stuck.

I've got the bits in the drawing which seem to be misisng bits from the Haynes manual description.

The way there were installed was 5, 2, 1, 3, 4 but that means the strut top dented the bonnet and sticks up to far.

I'd think the way they should be built up is 5 then a metal cover over it, 3, 4, 2 then 1 which would make the top mount stick up less.

By the way part 3 won't fit into the hole in the top of part 5

    Any help apprciated.

I would ahve said the way there were installed, presume the right strrut top was used....(not pictured in the diagram).

And it wasn't done up too tight, squashing the rubber bit underneath, IIRC they are only done up to either 35 or 70 Nm, i forget which, also if the rubber buffer is shagged it will squash down, making the top of the strut stick up too far, there is about the same amount of thread as on my shocks IIRC

its a common fault with gaz coilovers mate...they always do it..denting the bonnet that is..theres a couple ways round this.

lift the bonnet a bit so they clear.............or buy some avos or similar that dont have the prob
