    PS have a word with Kyle(cooper) when he bought 0144 i gave him a load of spares there was a Mocal cooler, pipework and thermostat included he might consider selling
    i forgot all about that mate lol.

    yes i understand the function of the thermostat but somebody said that even with the stat fitted, it was still over cool. Not sure why. Maybe it was stuck open

    yeah probably stuck open
    same as a coolant system thermostat really .

    It's mentioned above that the thermostat opens at 80 degrees C? Now personally i don't class my car as being properly warmed up until it reaches at least 80. So if it open at 80, the temp is gonna drop down to say 60 or so. Hence the oil is not up to temp.

    Why they didn't give people the option of different thermostats i don't know. I'd like one that opened at 100 instead. Then it would nicely bring the temp back down to what i consider normal.

    i think 100 is more like operating temp for the oil. Not sure what the optimum is though depends on the oil i suppose

    80 degress is probably when it starts opening .
    if it starts opening at 80 degrees it should never drop the temps
    to 60 degrees as the stat would be shut well before that .

    on the other hand even with the cooler you will probably
    be running 95-100 degrees on a track day while engine is
    being high revved at all times.
