    rear brake pads

    hey guys ive broken off the bit pice that undoes the rear brake pads in the screw. how can i get the bit a metal out the screw to change the pads? drill it out? trouble is its very small. give it sum pun with a hammer? cheers matt

    So, you have broken the torx bit inside the outer brake pad screw?

    Use a pin to get it out? Magnet? Mole grips on the edge of the screw? Poke with knife? Clockwise with very small drill bit?

    Lots of options.

    brakes

    sorry i meant the lad before me had done it but now its corroded and rusted in so cant get it out. buy a second hand part of the caliper? cheers

    cant you just grind then heads off ?

    Yer ive done that now but where can i get da new screws from cheers

    sure you will have a nuts and bolts stockists locally just nip down or i think a lot of people dont bother with them but check that one out i know i fitted new ones when i changed the calipers

    I'd hammer the pad and that in turn will pull the screw out the pad, and then just drill the remaining screw out the hole, and then you can put replacement screw through the caliper, and screwing into the new pad
