    Not a reno but need help with tyre/rim sizes

    Hi folks,

    been a while since i was on here...no renos anymore but am wondering if you can help me with the following;

    Basically i've got a corsa c as a runabout atm and am wanting to sort some wider rubber but retain the standard wheels.

    The wheels are 5.5J 14s currently rolling on 175/65/14 (std size) tyres.

    I want to change them to 195/60/14.

    Obviously the tyre is going to balloon out over the rim somewhat but will handling be ok?

    I've tried the Corsa C forum but seems to be full of kiddies so hoping for a more educated response from you guys...

    Your opinions appreciated!

    guessing it'll feel vague and sloppy as the side walls slop about

    why do you want to fit wider tyres?

    Well its 175s that are on which are a bit thin for something the size of a corsa C IMO.

    As luck would have it though i've found some astra mk4 16s in a scrappy so going to use them instead - 205 profile!

    thanks for the reply though - much appreciated!
