got 6k out of one on the turbo, that was from new though
I'd have no issue running a JB3 on a 2.0, NOT a valver box though, they're all shit, same goes for the JC5 williams boxes.
Its how you drive em sometimes,if you slam them in ,and let the clutch fly out.....something eventually will go bang.....its called over exuberents of the working parts. Try to be smoooooooooth!
That's exactly how i like to drive mine sometimes, no problems yet ;)
JB3 as in any of these...?Originally Posted by cliokiz

Well, no, not ANY of those, a lot of them may fit but you really need to check the top mount type, the speedo (make sure it has the hole to drive a cable speedo), the bellhousing type (whether it'll bolt to the block), the starter motor mounting positions, etc.
Allsorts of things to check. Also some boxes you can't use the williams gearbox strap on due to a part of the casting being missing.
Trial and error really!
ive had no gearbox probelms on any clios ive owned, even the turbo thats pushing 260 bhp. maybe im just to soft with it, or maybe cos its never on the chuffing road. hehe
in my opinion half the story is how you change your gears.... however renault gearboxes are wank.. i went through about 4 on my old hybrid... the best thing to do would be to fit a VAG engine ... the 6 speed TT boxes are bulletproof.
pity you cant get bell housing adapters!
i once ran a diesel box which was solid enough, but the ratios were ridiculous... ie 140 in 4th
