    Non p/s setup

    Hi everyone

Putting a Williams engine in my 16v tomorrow.
The car has not got power steering, so I need to source a way of removing the power steering pump from the engine. AFaik I need a bracket off of a volvo and a different belt.
Can anyone confirm the parts that I need/and any part numbers?

    Many thanks,
    Matt

    PAS to Non PAS Conversion

I did this conversion on my first black Clio Hybrid many years ago and I have fitted the set up to every clio ive owned since.. A must mod for me
The Non PAS rack gives alot more feel and feedback than the PAS set up...
The whole setup saves weight and lack of PAS pump frees up some HP/Revs
16V cup racers use a similar set up
Lots of people ask about this conversion so its about time i write a guide to save answering the same question over and over ;)

    Parts needed

    Non PAS rack

Non PAS Column (it is longer as the rack sits lower... see picture)

    Altenator bracket
    Altenator Tensioner
    Altenator belt 6rib 810

The Rack and column can be taken from any Mk1 Clio with Non PAS

The brackets can be taken from....

R19 with the F3P / RSi shape engine with no PAS
    R5 GTX or Monaco 1.7
Volvo 440 /480 fitted with the F3P shape enigne with no PAS
    Some Meganes irrc

    Renault Part numbers

    7700718613 Plated tensioner bracket - ?
8200031832 Altenator Holder bracket - £44.17 net VAT
7703101094 Altenator long bolt - £3.90 net VAT
    7703101073 block bolts x3 - £1.56 net VAT

In the second pic you have the rack bolted to the PAS rack brackets, Should a non PAS rack be bolted directly to the subframe, without the brackets ?
