Change the gear knob

Anyone know how to do this?

I just bought a brand new one, trying to work out how to get it on...

Should just screw on, guess you already worked that out. If when you took the old one off, you didn't have to unscrew it, then the threaded sleeve is still on the stick and needs unscrewing.

I gave up in the end and just swapped the blue plastic centres

yeah figured that just really not keen on breaking it!

Yeah I think I'll do the same - this new one doesn't look as good as the original on there - it's a little smaller too...

The one on there looks like leather, but this new one is very foamy is you know what I mean... Was yours the same?

I can't remember mate it was ages ago now, if you do swap them remember to glue it into place or will rattle like hell, when mine did!

it just pushes on the shaft is splined its a tough one to get off i twisted the old one off then used a piece off wood wrapped in cloth and covered the top of your new knob and drifted it on with soft mallet
