Thread revival.......
Schaks, i'm waiting on the chip from Midge. Then all i'll need is a R21 turbo map sensor & injectors, 2 one-way valves, a 1.6mm head gasket, then i'm good to go.
However, after reading through loads of posts and other stuff on the net, i'm unsure myself as whether or not to skim my pistons, or just put the 1.6mm head gasket in. I'd be hoping for at least 210bhp really if that was possible. I do plan on going high comp & forged at a later date, but funds can't allow that at the mo.
Are you still contemplating this conversion or you given up?!
I won't be starting mine for a few months yet, as i've got spinal surgery this thursday, so i'll be recovering for a couple of months at least
at the moment i am delaying the turbo project as i allready have the bits to
go 2 litre 16v which i think is a more reliable option for track and daily drive. however i also have hoarded some bits for the turbo conversion :D (manifold , low boost chipped ecu , injectors, map sensor, dump valve )
the reason i choose n/a over turbo at the moment is simply because
i have not yet seen a decent running turbo conversion . they clearly
seem to be 2 minute wonder ,drag cars /trailer queens
i will eventually run the low boost turbo conversion on one of my
cars just to see for myself though :D
