    headlights just stopped working?

was driving along yesterday in a 1.9 mk1 ph3 clio and the headlights just stopped working all together, no dipped or main beam.
as far as i can see there is no fuse in the passsenger footwell. the bulbs are good (tried spares and still no luck), is there a fuse i dont know about somewhere? side lights and indicators are working fine.
I am going to try the stalk from my valver to see if thats the problem, but has anyone got any other ideas?

    Thanks

mine did this for the mot! 5 quid from the local scrappy got me a new (2nd hand) stalk and it sorted it out for me... small black box on the end of the stalk must have a fault in it! good luck, very easy fix

Check in the fusebox next to the washer bottle.
