How to fit upgraded fuel pump? 'motorsport' or walbro?

In my j reg the fuel pump is seperate from the sender, if i buy the walbro is there a guide on how to fit it? is it a direct swap? on ebay theres someone selling a 'motor sport upgrade' pump with fitting kit, is this any good?

i changed mine on the race car and it took some doing to find the right one.

But you defo need one that is just for the valver - not williams. I bought the williams one originally and was totally differant.

I ended up with a pump that can run to 500BHP. I wanted the best i could get in there but there are others avaliable. I will look at the box when i get in tonight to get the code.

You have to do some soldering to swap connectors, bar that it was a direct fit.

i didnt take any pictures when i did it, just of initial strip down.

Hardest bit was getting into the original unit.

    From memory

Drill out the two rivets on the bottom of the original fuel pump.
Compress the snaps and remove the bottom outer plastics
    Remove filter
    Remove pump
Cut fuel pump wires and replace with those from the kit (a new connector is supplied to the new fuel pump), Make sure you do a good job of soldering in the new wires as your skills will be tested inside the fuel tank.
Fit rubber spaces to pump and then the old rubber spacers.
    Refit into plastics
    Rivet unit back together.
